You can tell us about a safeguarding concern
A young person, parent or carer, social worker, professional, visitor or any other person can raise a concern. You do not need to wait until you have every detail. Tell us what you are worried about so the concern can be considered and escalated appropriately.
If you are a young person
You can speak to a member of staff, your social worker, an independent advocate or another adult you trust. You can also call the dedicated number yourself.
If you are a professional or adult
Call the dedicated number and explain who you are, who you are worried about, what happened and whether anyone is in immediate danger.
What happens when a concern is raised
Operational escalation route:
Dedicated 24/7 Supported Accommodation contact → Registered Service Manager David Ramsay → Nominated Individual Michael Callum → appropriate statutory safeguarding or emergency services where required.
The person receiving the concern will pass it through the appropriate management and safeguarding route. Serious or urgent concerns are referred to the relevant statutory or emergency services where required.
Getting help outside the service
- In an emergency or immediate danger, call 999.
- Speak to your social worker, personal adviser or another trusted professional.
- Ask for an independent advocate to help make sure your wishes and rights are heard.
